    Help Setting up an word prob equation and solving.

    thanks
    The word problem is:
    A photograph is 4 inches longer than it is wide. If the frame is 2 in. wide, the combined area of the photograph and the frame is 252 in.^2. Find the dimensions of the photograph without the frame.

    I can't think of how to solve this..
    help appreciated.

    Let width of photograph = x
    then length of photograph = 4 + x

    width of frame = x + 2
    Length of frme = 4 + x + 2 = x + 6

    Area = (x + 2)(x + 6) = 252

    now, can you solve this and finish up ??
