Thread: Find the slope and y-intercept

Find the slope and y-intercept for each line

3x+5y+10=0

Can anyone help me. I am lost with these problems.

First you can put it into gradient/intercept form: y = mx + c
i.e.
3x+5y+10 = 0;
5y = -3x - 10
y = -3/5x - 2

hence the gradient/slope = -3/5 and the y intercept is -2
