Thread: App. Math 10 REalation and Function on Graph...HELPPPPPPP

I have about 10 questions that ask which graph decribes the situtations best and I have no idea what do to! They all ask the realtions between two objects and each of the lines are slanted up or down...?

hmmm... Sorry, but you need to be more specific than that for someone to help you. (Try uploading the graph?)

Thanks for the replys sorry about the lack of details...here 2 sample questions...

1 The distance travelled is realted to the length of time you have been travelling. Which of the situations decribes this situation best?
(there are two graphs to choose from, both have distance on the side and time on the bottom...but one line is slanted up and the other is slanted down)

2 The loudness of a band is realted to how far you are from the band. Which of the situations decribes the situation best?
(there are two graphs to choose from, both have loudness on the side and distance on the bottom...but one line is slanted up and the other is slanted down)

Let's see...

For #1, so as time goes on, do you think the distance you travel will be more or less?

And for #2, The smaller the distance from the band, the (louder or less loud) of the band?

to figure it out it's easiest to just break it down . . .
so the farther you travel, the more time it takes right ? so the graph would show both time and distance becoming greater, or slanting upwards.
for the band, the farther away you are the less you would hear them, so it would make sense that the graph slopes down. . hope that helps .
