HELPPP Parabola equation.
Find the equation of th parabola which passes through the point (-1,4) and has vertex (-3,3) and axis x=-3.

Hello emetty90,

Start out with this: $y=a(x-h)^2+k$, where [tex](h, k) is the vertex.

$y=a(x+3)^2+3$

Now, substitute your point (-1, 4) in for x and y to solve for a.

Then put it all back together again in the general form $y=ax^2+bx+c$ or vertex form $y=a(x-h)^2+k$.
