The equation of the line parallel to the given line can be any equation of the form y = mx + c where m should be equal to the m you have in the given equation . Here m is the slope. In parallel lines m or the slope is same.

The equation of a line is y = mx + c. You therefore need two pieces of information to get the value of m and c. You've been given information that lets you get the value of m. Without futher information nothing more can be done. The value of c cannot be calculated without further information.
