    Function Notation

    Find f(a) and f(-a)

    f(x)= 1/x^2-6

I got the first one, f(a) = 1/a^2-6 , but the second one I am struggling with. Any help woul dbe greatly appreciated!

    f(-a) = 1/(-a)^2 - 6

    but since (-a)^2 = a^2 you have f(a) = f(-a) = 1/a^2 - 6
