    1) A 350 kg boat has an acceleration of 0.62 m/s^2 at an angle 64 degrees north of east, find magnitude and direction of the net force which acts on the boat

    2) Two forces act on a 7 kg block. Force 1 is 59 N, 70 degrees above the flat surface, and Force 2 is 33 N, on the right facing left onto the box. What is the horizontal acceleration (magnitude and direction) of the box?

With both of these problems the key result to use is:

total force = mass x acc

This formula solves the first question straight away.

It's not clear how you would solve the second question regarding the forces - but once you have combined the total forces you'll be able to use the above equation.
