    finding the vertex of quadratic functions

    Is there possibly an easy way to remember how to find a vertex for a quadratic function? i am doing homework online and just keep getting these questions wrong...I cannot seem to understand how to apply finding the vertex to different quad functions. i understand it after the fact, but when a new one pops up that looks different i still don't know what to do...

    You can complete the square to find the vertex or use the formula

    h = -\frac{b}{2a}

    which gives you your x coordinate and then just plug it in to the equation to find your y coordinate.
