A cake is removed form an oven at 300 degrees F and left to cool at room temperature, which is 70 degrees F. After 30 minutes, the temperature of the cake is 200 degrees F. When will it be 100 degrees F?

Assuming the function is linear, we have (min, temp)=(0, 300) and (30, 200).

The linear equation, after finding a slope of -10/3 is y=-10/3 x + 300.

Substitute 100 for y and solve for x.

x = 60 minutes.

Maybe I'm oversimplifying this, but it does seem rather trivial.
