    Vector v

    For the next problems, write the vector v in the form
    ai + bj, given its magnitude ||v|| and the angle A it makes with the positive x-axis.

    ||v|| = 3, A 240 degrees

    Draw the diagram out. You have a vector extending out into the 3rd quadrant with a magnitude of 3, draw the x and y component to form a right triangle. Notice that this triangle has an angle of 60 degrees. Use simple trigonometry to figure out the a and b.
