    f(x) problem

    f(x)= 2x^2+4x+2

    if f(-x) I got 2x+2 what did I do wrong? What is -x ^2?

    Hi rj2001,

    I don't thoroughly understand your question......

    If we have f(x)=2x^2+4x+2 then f(-x)=2(-x)^2+4(-x)+2=2x^2-4x+2 .

    f(x)=2x^2+4x+2

    now if f(x+h) is plugged in to above what would that be?

    2(x + h)^2 + 4(x + h) + 2 =

    2(x^2 + 2xh + h^2) + 4(x + h) + 2 =

    2x^2 + 4xh + 2h^2 + 4x + 4h + 2 =

    2x^2 + (4h + 4)x + (2h^2 + 4h + 2)
