    Polynomial Function

    Is it possible for a cubic function to have only 2 real distinct roots, each of order 1? Explain why or why not. Include examples.

    If it is a cubic polynomial with real coefficients, then no, it cannot have exactly two real roots. For polynomials with real coefficients, imaginary roots always come in pairs.
