Materials to Make a Tent
A cone-shaped tent is made from a circular piece of canvas 24 feet in diameter by removing a sector with central angle 100 degrees and connecting the ends. What is the surface area of the tent?

Just subtract the area of the sector from the area of the circular piece of canvas. Radius (r) = 12.

$A_T = \pi r^2-\frac{100}{360} \pi r^2$
