coordinates of triangle ABC are A(1,5) B(4,4) C(8,6). Given that P is the foot of the perpendicular from A to BC, find eqn of P and coordinates of P. I do not understand the question, wat does it mean by the foot?

Foot is the point where the perpendicular line segment intersects the line segment BC.

Yep. Find the equation of line BC, find the equation of line AF where F is the foot (B-F-C). Intersection point of those two lines is F.
Thanku very much i can find all the points already. however there is more last part that i dont know how to solve which is the length of perpendicular from B to AC.
