    Question Piece-wise functions, please help

I could barely follow my teacher as he explained how to solve them. So, could you please show me how to do this step by step?

A gift shop sells pewter mugs for $35. They are currently running an engraving promotion. The first six letters are free. Each additional letter costs $0.20.

Write a piecewise model that gives the price of the mug with x engraved letters.

    Graph the function.

What is the price of a mug with the name Jamie Lynn Krane engraved?

note that the domain of x is the set of whole numbers, making f(x) a discrete function (a set of "dots") on the xy-coordinate plane.

    f(x) = 35 , x < 6
    f(x) = 35 + .20x , x > 7
