Thread: Distance and Midpoint formulas

Discuss how the Distance and Midpoint Formulas provide ways to solve geometry problems without having to use a drawing.
I don't get it, what would I write?

Hmm lets try to visualize the distance formula on the rectangular coordinate system. You are given 2 points to find the distance. Well plot those two points on the rectangular coordinate system. Now draw a line connecting those two points, that will be your hypotenuse of a right triangle. Now finish making the triangle by drawing its other two sides. Now you have a triangle that you can use pythagorean theorem to find the hypotenuse which is your distance. See using the distance formlua is alot easier than having to draw all that out lol.
