Divide x^4 - x^3 -7x + 84 by x^2 - 3 I keep getting the following answer: (x^2 - x) + (-10x + 84)/(x^2 - 3) However, this is not right. Can you help me step by step? The red part is my remainder. Why am I doing wrong?

Code: x^2 - x + 3 ----------------------------------- x^2 - 3 | x^4 - x^3 + 0x^2 - 7x + 84 x^4 - 3x^2 ------------------------ - x^3 + 3x^2 - 7x + 84 - x^3 + 3x ------------------------------- 3x^2 - 10x + 84 3x^2 - 9 -------------------- - 10x + 93
x^2 - x + 3 ----------------------------------- x^2 - 3 | x^4 - x^3 + 0x^2 - 7x + 84 x^4 - 3x^2 ------------------------ - x^3 + 3x^2 - 7x + 84 - x^3 + 3x ------------------------------- 3x^2 - 10x + 84 3x^2 - 9 -------------------- - 10x + 93
Now I see what I did wrong.
