    Help

    A population of deer starts at 350 in the year 2002 and decreases by 6.2% every year.

    Write a formula for N, the population of deer, as a function of t, the number of years after 2002

    Well just do a few years and try to see the pattern.

    year 0 (2002): N(0)=350
    year 1: N(1)=N(0)*(1-.062) = 350*0.938
    year 2: N(2)=N(1)*0.938 = 350\cdot 0.938^2
    year 3: N(3)=N(2)*0.938 = 350\cdot 0.938^3
