A ship is in distress off the cost of california. The ship's captain knows he is approximately 30 miles offshore. Transmitter A is located 100 miles due north of transmitter B, Both transmitters are on the coastline. From the transmission times, we know the ship is 60 miles closer to transmitter B than it is to transmitter A. Place the origin on transmitter B.

a) Make a diagram of the situation including graph of the hyperbola.

b) Find the hyperbolic model (in standard form) tracking the ship

c) Find the location of the ship relative to transmitter B
