you do know what $\displaystyle e^x$ looks like, right?
$\displaystyle 2^x$ has a horizontal asymptote at the x-axis. so the range for $\displaystyle 2^x$ is $\displaystyle (0, \infty)$how do you find the range of y = 2^x -1
$\displaystyle 2^x - 1$ means you shift $\displaystyle 2^x$ down 1 unit. The asymptote shifts this much as well. so what is the range now
i hope you mean $\displaystyle 2^x - 1$ as you typed, as opposed to $\displaystyle 2^{x - 1}$
