# Math Help - I hope this is the right area for this question

1. ## I hope this is the right area for this question

Find a polynomial with leading coefficient 1 and degee 3 that has -1,1,and 3 as roots. My answer after working it out was x^3-3x^2+x-3, I would like to know if that is right. Thanks for looking it over.

Well,
$(x-1)(x+1)(x-3)$
Factor everything,
$(x^2-1)(x-3)$
One more time,
$x^3-x-3x^2+3=0$
