# Math Help - Graphing two functions

1. ## Graphing two functions

Graph both functions on the same coordinate system.

$f(x)=3^{x}$

$f(x)=-3^{x}$

Can somebody help me convert the decimals in the tables into fractions?

1)

x/ f(x)
-3 / .03704
-2 / .11111
-1 / .33333
0 / 1
1 / 3
2 / 9
3 / 27

2)

x/ g(x)
-3/ -.037
-2/ -.1111
-1/ -.3333
0/ -1
1/ -3
2/ -9
3/ -27

Also...are these tables for the functions correct?

It would of been simpler to just work them out without using a calculator if you wanted fractions...

get you started off....

f(x)=3^(x)

f(-3)=3^(-3)
f(-3)=1/(3^(3))
f(-3)=1/27

it's very simple mental maths i think you may have some gaps in your learning when it comes to indices i would ask for some help =] because they are very important....
