Need help with find the cartesian equation of a parametric set.

I have a Lissajous curve with the equations x=cos(2*t) and y=sin(t) for 0<t<2(pi). I need to find thae cartesian equation for this and I am really stuck. Any help is greatly appreciated

    trig identity

    $$\cos (2t)=1-2 \sin ^2t$$
