This is the quesnition....

Write an equation of the line in the form x=a, y=b, or y=mx+b

trough (8,3) parallel to y=5x-6

Because they are parallel the two line will "look" alike.
So the line you want is y=5x+b. Use x=8 & y=3 to find b.

so then I would plug in both 8 and 3 into y=5x+b?

3=5(8)+b ?

3=40b ?

3-40=b ?

-37=b ?

You got the correct answer but you forgot the '+' after the b in the second step
