    equations

    The equation of a line is 3x + 2y + k = 0. Find the value of k if the line passes through the point (0, 4).

    The point (0,4) means that when x = 0, y = 4. We can substitute these values into the equation:

    3(0)+2(4)+k=0

    k=-8
