    translation

    This problem has me dumbfounded. I know it is a simple solution but I cant find it.

    Translate to an equation: The ratio of brick houses to wooden houses in a particular city is 6 to 12. Let b = the number of brick houses and w = the number of wooden houses.

    can someone please help me out. Thanks

    brick and wood houses

    6 divided by 12 =b divided by w
