    Hello, dtflin!

    Did you PREVIEW what you wrote?
    What a mess!

    Let S =
    −2, −1, 0,
    1
    2
    , 1,
    2
    , 2, 4
    .
    Determine which elements of S satisfy the inequality. (Enter your answers as a comma-separated list.)
    1/x<1/2

    The problem might be:

    . . Let S = {-2, -1, 0, 1/2, 1, √2, 2, 4}

    . . Determine which elements of S satisfy: .1/x < 1/2

    Where is your difficulty?

    Substitute each element of S into the inequality
    . . and see which ones make it true.
