In March 2001 a study indicated that the number of autism cases in the study population increased from 44 cases per 100,000 live births in 1980 to 208 cases per 100,000 live births in 1994. Over the same time period, the percentage of children receiving MMR immunizations by the age of 24 months increased from 72% to 82%.
Based on these results, explain whether or not the study supports the hypothesis that the MMR vaccine is responsible for the increase in autism.
I feel that I need to find some rates of change and compare them, but I'm not really sure where to begin.
Any help is appreciated!
