    Finding the inverse

    A little confused on how to find the inverse of this:

    g(x)=3x+1


    Any help would be great thanks!

    get the function in its simplest form y=3^x+1..then try to solve for x using logarithms...then interchange x---y.....it is simple
    the answer is f(-1) (x) = ln|x-1/ln3
