c) Find the rational function with x intercepts at x=2 and x=-2, hole at x=1, vertical asymptote at x=-1 and P(0)=8.

So far I have:

P(x) = a(x-2)(x+2)(x-1)/(x+1)(x-1)

Is this right so far? Now how do I find the value for P(0) = 8?

Why have you put the denominator twice?

Oh, typo, sorry. Ok now?

It's correct so far. Now how can you find the value of a?

Think I found it:

P(x) = -2(x-2)(x+2)(x-1)/(x+1)(x-1) - Apr 28th 2013, 05:44 PMProve ItRe: Finding rational function.
Correct, well done :)
