To be honest, I really don't know how to do them. This worksheet is supposed to be a self teach from textbook, but I don't get it. I would really appreciate if you can do these problems for me!
The problem says "Draw a picture to depict this scenario". So draw a picture! Drawa Cassie and a horizontal line extending from her, since we are given "angle of elevation" and "angle of depression" which are measured from the horizontal. Draw a line at 53 degrees to that horizontal, from Cassie to the bird. Draw a line at 27 degrees below the horizontal to Emily, directly below the bird. That gives a triangle where one of the sides has length 50 feet and the opposite angle is 53+ 27= 80 degrees. Now, as for determining the distance to the bird, it is not clear that we have enough information. One side and one angle are not enough.
