    Function Question

    Let f(x)=x+2|x−3|,andg(x)=3x−1.

    (a) Find all solutions to the equation f(g(x)) = −4x.

    So I come up with
    f(g(x)) = 3x - 1 + 2|3x - 1 - 3| = - 4x
Is this set up correct? And would I simply solve for x?

    Thank you!

3x- 1- 3= 3x- 4, of course, but what you have is correct.
