Finding the range of a piecewise function
Hi there!
So i'm just a little confused with how to find the range of this practice equation.
The question states: Find the domain and range of the following piecewise function:
f(x)= {x^3 x≤4
{1/(x^2) x>4
So I got the domain correct, but not that range...
Domain:
(-infinity,4]U[4,infinity)
I thought that to find the range we just had to plug in the domain...?
But it still says I have a wrong answer...
I did:
f(x)= (4)^3 = 64
f(x)= 1/(4^2) = 0.0625
Range: 0.0625<y<64
I'm not sure what I did wrong... Is it the calculations or the process?
Any input helps!
Thank you!
