No need for calculus... For starters, remember that the product of square roots is equal to the square root of the product. So $\displaystyle \displaystyle \begin{align*} \sqrt{2x^2v^3}\sqrt{10x^4v^6} = \sqrt{2x^2v^3 \cdot 10x^4v^6} \end{align*}$. Go from here.

Ok from that I got sqrt(20x^6 y^9).

Then I think I remember from school we used to factor out the perect squares..? So like sqrt(20*x^4*x^2*y^9)... So lost! Am I on the right track here? I feel like I'm confusing another process with this one. - Aug 21st 2012, 08:04 PMpjlloyd100Re: Simplify!!! Square Roots and Variables. =/
Got it: 2x^3 y^4 sqrt(5y)

If anyone wants to check that for me, I'll appreciate it! - Aug 21st 2012, 08:07 PMProve ItRe: Simplify!!! Square Roots and Variables. =/
