    simplified equation problem

Hi all, i`m a bit lost on how I arrive at an answer.

    I have 1800*1.045^n -1800 and I am shown I can simplify to 1800(1.045^n -1)

I know that 1800 is a common factor, but the how I get 1.045^n- in brackets is puzzeling me

    thank chaps
