Okay, I have another thing to ask. I want to see how YOU would, step by step, figure out if the following equation would be classified as an even or odd function or neither.

Let $f(x) = x^2 - x$

$\Rightarrow f(-x) = (-x)^2 - (-x) = x^2 + x$

So $f(-x) \ne f(x)$ and $f(-x) \ne -f(x)$ (which would be $x - x^2$)

Thus, $f(x)$ is neither even nor odd
