Piecewise Functions...Is this proper?
Can you have a piecewise function defined like:

f(x)=
x+3 if x<=3
2x if x>=3

Or do you need to eliminate the equal from one of those?

Plugging in 3 gives 6 in either equations, and so, do you just arbitrarily pick one for if x=3?

Well let us just say that it is not good form.
In this case, the function is continuous at $x=3$
That may not always be the case.
