This would be easy if i knew what to do with the negative sign and the square root! but since i dont know what i can do, i am stuck!
Find all the solutions of the equation:
-(sqrt(26-11x)+4)=x
square both sides and continue (beware, doing this can introduce erroneous solutions, so be sure to check all the answers you get when done to see which ones work)
of course, i'd probably do this:
$\displaystyle -(\sqrt {26 - 11x} + 4) = x$
$\displaystyle \Rightarrow \sqrt {26 - 11x} = -(x + 4)$
and then square both sides
