for these kinds of problems, you would divide this into cases where 1. x<1, x=1 2.1<x<3 3. x>3, x=3 but that problem is weird. even if you put x=1, it's smaller than 5. i think the question's messed up lol
Well, I would not say "messed up". I would just say that the answer to the problem is "there is NO value of x that makes this inequality true."
