Hello,

I have a data set to which I want to apply a non-linear regression. I have found the best-fit equation which is:

y=a + b * e^(-x/c)

Does anyone know what the parameters stand for (in layman's terms ) ? How they effect the shape of the function?

I know that:

a=y intercept

Someone suggested that b=amplitude and c=phase but how does this apply to an exponential function?

Help!
