Real exponents?
Can anyone help me with these two problems?

Simplify each expression

1. (f^-16/ 256 g^4 h^-4) ^ -1/4 This is what I did

(f^4/ 4^4 g^4 h^-4)
f^4/4^-1 g^-1 h^1 Did I do this right?

2. Solve each equation

14.2= x^(-3/2)

If you would write the first as $\displaystyle \left(2^{-8}f^{-16}g^{-4}h^{4}\right)^{\frac{-1}{4}}$ then
it is a lot easier.

For the second question,

$\displaystyle 14.2=x^{-\frac{3}{2}}$

$\displaystyle x^{\frac{3}{2}}=\frac{1}{14.2}$

$\displaystyle x=\left(\frac{1}{14.2}\right)^{\frac{2}{3}}$
