Solving complex number with divison
Hi,

Q) Separate into real and imaginary parts (write as a simple complex number):

• (-2 + 3i)²/(1 + i)

Please help me solving it ! (Crying) I know the method is by multiplying it with conjugate but can't get a proper answer.

First expand the numerator $(-2+3i)^2$

$4+(2)(-2)(3i) + 9i^2$

$4-12i+9i^2$

Since $i^2 = -1$ then $-5-12i$

Now multiply your new fraction by the conjugate of $(1+i)$ which is $1-i$
