I need help answering the following question.

"Find a normal unit vector to the plane containing v=2i+3j-k and z=-3i-j-4k."

hint: the vector (cross) product of two vectors is perpendicular to both vectors.

so is the normal unit vector just the cross product (v X z)?

Almost try: $\dfrac{v\times z}{\|v\times z\|.}$
