# Math Help - Finding Domain and Range of function

1. ## Finding Domain and Range of function

5y( x- 1)( x-3 )=2(5x + 3)

its Domain and Range :
D: x ≠ 1 , 3
R: {y|y ≥ -1/5 or y ≥ - 5}

i would like to know how to reach the solution on domain and range . i'm so confused.

2. If you write it on a more familiar form: $y = \frac{2(5x+3)}{5(x-1)(x-3)}$ you'll see that it is undefined for $x=1$ and $x=3$ since the denominator is 0 for those two values.

3. Thanks Mondreus !

How about showing the Solution before plugging in the values of x which is done by cases.
im a little confused now.

4. Do you understand what "domain" and "range" mean?

5. HallsofIvy i understand domain and range
i wanted to ask for the manipulation or solution how it is being done to reach to the range and domain. thank you
