If I understand the prolem well, you can fold the sheet in two ways, but only one will give the maximum volume.

To maximise volume in each case, the height is x and the width y.Code:____________ | | | | | | | | 8 | | | | |___|___|___| x y x 14
In the first case, 2x + y = 8
V = 14xy
In the second case, 2x + y = 14
V = 8xy
Look for the one with maximum volume!
