    Rational functions problem

Determine the equation in the form:
    f(x) = 1/kx-c
for the function with a vertical asymptote at x=-1 and a y-intercept at -0.25

How would you go about doing this? How do you set up the denominator when x=0 for the y-intercept?
    -Thanks

    firstly, is it f(x) = 1/kx-c or f(x) = 1/(kx-c) ?

    -0.25 = 1/(-c) (why?)

    k(-1) - c = 0 (why?)

Solve the above equations for c and k.
