Thread: What are some good pre-calculus books you would recommend?

For a novice? Even though I am doing a course, I feel as if my teacher does not explain the concepts too well and would like to learn them on my own.

Mathematics for the Nonmathematician, by Morris Kline. This guy understood real applications - as in, real-world applications. He was also an excellent expositor. Plus, the book is published by Dover, so it's inexpensive. I doubt you could do better.
