    Simplify Without Absolute Values

    Simplify and write the given numbers without using absolute values.

    (1) |pi - sqrt[5]| =

    (2) |3 - pi| + 7 =

    If a is greater than b, then
    |a - b| = a - b

    If a is less than b, then
    |a - b| = b - a
