can anyone help me with these questions? what is the correct answer?
Is it a,b,c or d??

1) solve log(x-3) +log(x-2) = log(2x+24)

a)x=9
b)x= -2
c)x= -2, and x=9
d)x= -9

2)If (x-3) is a factor of f(x)=2X2 + ax-3,the value of a is:
a)5
b)3
c)-5
d)-3

1) Using a well known log rule, the equation simplifies to log[(x-3)(x-2)] = log(2x+24) => (x-3)(x-2) = 2x + 24. Either solve this equation or test each option. If you want to solve the equation, please show all your work and say where you get stuck if you need help.

2) If (x - 3) is a factor then f(3) = 0. Solve for a.
