A Farmer has an orchard that will support 144 trees. he knows that he sells as many apples as he does peaches and pears together, and he sells twice as many peaches as pears. if all the trees bear about the same amount of fruit, how many of each kind of tree should he plant?

i set up a equation that made them equal to 144 and got 72 applies 24 peaches and 48 pears but i dont think this is the right answer nor what the question is asking for.
